Just in case you are looking for an easy last minute cranberry sauce for tomorrow.
In our house we love cranberries …well Victoria and I do. 🙂 You could make these in a bigger batch and then can them for later use for Christmas or any other day you feel like having some yummy cranberry cause. Victoria and I love it on fresh baked bread.
Victoria and I had such a blast cooking this morning. Even with a headache, she made the morning cooking adventure a ton of fun for me. She had me cracking up with her giggles each time the cranberries would explode.
She loves helping in the kitchen, best sous chef I could ever ask for. 🙂
Giggling as the cranberries pop, “taking cover!!”, & “I love cranberries!!”
Priceless mommy moments. 🙂
Cranberry sauce two ways. I would def. recommend using a funnel for this…I didn’t have one and we made quite a mess getting it into the jars. 😉
The two recipes I used are as follows, with my thoughts on each.
This one was Victoria’s favorite, she loves cinnamon. If you don’t care for cinnamon don’t use this one. You can def. taste it in the sauce. It has a little more liquid than the other one but its still yummy. I have never had a “spiced” cranberry sauce before, def. glad I tried it.
This one had a big draw for me ….the ingredients were very intriguing to me…who would have thought to put maple syrup in your cranberry sauce? I have never heard of that before. I found it to be not as sugar sweet as the one made with sugar but it had a nice cranberry flavor with a good amount of sweet and citrus thrown in the mix. This one was def. thicker than the first one …thinking that has something to do with the syrup. We used an organic cranberry pomegranate juice for ours.
I am thinking about going back next week and getting some more cranberries to make these again and then can them for use throughout the fall/winter. They are both keepers for us and going in my recipe binder for sure.
Up next for today: Using the left over cranberries for a cranberry upside down cake.
Later today: Baking bread
Hoping everyone has a fabulous holiday and weekend. 🙂
